Respect Mother Nature: Mr. Panduranga Hegde’s message to SVIMS :
Mr Panduranga Hegde an internationally acknowledged devote crusader of conservation of Global Environmental Resources , a stalwart of Chipko, Appiko & Save the Western Ghats Movements visited SVIMS and NKES school on 22nd January 2016.
He interacted with the students and urged them to build habits respecting mother nature and highlighted role of the youth in conservation of global natural resources whilst sharing his 30+ years journey in the battle to save the earth. Mr. Hegde highlighted how simple practices can help reduce pollution and help tackle global warming. Land, water, air are the natural ingredients which need to be continuously recycled for purification. Modern science has created some products and elements such as plastics which obstruct the natural recycling balance of mother nature. It is therefore incumbent on the youth to handle these wastes with utmost alertness and care.
Motivated by Mr. Hegde’s session, students have resolved to launch a “Chipko Club” to build awareness on simple methods to keep land, air & water clean. It is planned to have activities involving children, students and faculty to support the drive.
